As both a New Yorker and a friend, I take great pride in congratulating John McHugh on his confirmation as Secretary of the Army. New York will miss Representative McHugh very much, but we know that he will be great asset to the Obama administration, and we look forward to seeing the tremendous work he will do. Secretary McHugh has over 30 years of experience with military affairs, including serving for 14 years as the Co-Chairman of the House of Representatives Army Caucus. While in Congress, he has been a remarkable bipartisan leader and I know that he will continue to bring people together as he takes on the important work in his new career. I look forward to continuing my relationship with Secretary McHugh and working with him to support our troops.
