Statement on Senate Extension of Cash for Clunkers

Congressman Maffei released the following statement:

“I am so pleased that last night the Senate passed at $2 billion extension for “Cash for Clunkers”. This program is working, even faster than predicted, and we need this extension to make sure it keeps running. Car dealers have customers back in their showrooms, car manufacturers are seeing their best numbers in a year. This is a boon to the whole auto industry at a time they desperately need some good news.”
